"Those multi-nationals who have come with FDI in retail...I have reports to show that they have been bribing people, bureaucracy in order to further their trade," senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi claimed today.
"It is highly dangerous both for the retail traders as well as for the farmers...Nor will they give anything cheaper," he said.
Joshi said FDI in retail was being opposed by everybody in the country.
"They (MNCs) will create further problems of pollution, parking and changes in food habits," he said.
Joshi said in many countries there was strong opposition to "these retailers". He said the multi-national companies in retail will also impinge very strongly on the small and medium industrial production in the country.
Main opposition BJP has been vehemently opposing the entry of FDI in retail sector.
