While bodies of a woman and three children, aged between 1-10 years, were found near the railway tracks at Bogribari, a man and a child were also found lying unconscious near them, SRP Siliguri Debasish Sarkar said.
The man later died in a local hospital, while the child was being treated there.
The deceased and the child had not been identified and the cause of the death was under investigation, Sarkar said.
Some villagers informed the railway police after spotting the bodies near the rail tracks this morning at Bogribari, a place in between Dhupguri and Altagram railway stations," he said.
