"They were arrested when the ultras arrived in the village to collect ransom from the contractor engaged in a bridge construction work," Additional Superintendent of Police Apurva said.
He said the arrested ultras have been identified as Iswari Oraon, Vinod Oraon, Vikash Yadav, Chatu Bhuiyan and Chandan Paswan.
Among the arrested, Iswari, Vikas and Chandan had been to jail in the past.
Five 315-bore rifles, two 12-bore rifles, one carbine, one revolver, one 19-mm country-made pistol and 38 live cartridges were seized from their possession, he said.
Besides, police also seized police uniforms and Naxal literature, two police belts and Rs 500 cash, he said.
