Flyover collapse: Dattatreya assures relief for victim workers

Expressing grief over the deaths in the Kolkata flyover collapse today, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said all steps would be taken to provide relief to the affected construction workers.
The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) would provide medical assistance to injured workers, the Union Minister said.
Steps would be taken for payment of compensation to the affected workers, he said.
At least 18 people were killed, over 60 others injured and many trapped as portion of an under-construction two-km flyover collapsed on a congested road intersection in Kolkata, crushing people, vehicles and hawkers underneath.
