In a jolt to Samajwadi Party, Uttar
Pradesh Agriculture minister Anand Singh's son and former MP Kirtivardhan Singh today resigned from the party.
"At the time when people of the state were facing heat of riots in Muzaffarnagar and other parts and the government is busy in enjoyment in Saifai, I feel there is no point in continuing with the party," Singh said in his letter to party supremo Mulayam Singhy Yadav.
"I am hereby resigning from the primary membership of the party," he said.
Earlier, the party candidate and sitting MP from Gonda, Brijbhushan Singh had expressed his unwillingness to contest on party ticket and returned it.
