Pop star Lady Gaga and Metallica unleashed an intense act of the heavy metal band's "Moth into Flame" at the 59th annual Grammys despite facing technical glitches.
While performing the blistering number, Metallica frontman James Hetfield's mic stopped working. However, the singer somehow managed the situation by sharing the microphone with the 30-year-old diva.
For the rest of the performance, the pair tore through the "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" song amidst a flurry of pyrotechnics and a horde of headbangers with Gaga, who was donning a jean shorts, chains and a Metallica shirt, even launching herself into the crowd.
At the end of the performance, a visibly frustrated Hetfield knocked down his mic stand and threw his guitar offstage.
Metallica's "Hardwired" was nominated for the best Rock Song at the ceremony, but lost out to late David Bowie's "Blackstar". Gaga was not up for any awards, as her recent album 'Joanne' came out too late to qualify.
However, the act captured a massive week for Gaga, who performed a career-spanning medley during Super Bowl halftime show on February 5.
Besides the two performers, Adele also apologised to fans as she restarted her George Michael tribute during the live telecast of the Grammy Awards after battling sound issues.
She was hit with sound problems moments into the performance and halted the music.
Adele had suffered similar glitches last year as well while performing "All I Ask".
