A tenth standard girl student was allegedly raped by five youths in Miranpur town of the district yesterday.
Irate people blocked the Delhi-Pauri highway for about an hour in the town today, they said, .
Shops, schools and other institutions were also closed in the area today.
"The main accused, Salman has been arrested while four of his associates are absconding," police said, adding that the search was on to nab the absconding youths.
Yesterday, the girl was forcibly taken to a nearby jungle by the five youths while she was going to her school where she was gang raped by them. Later the victim was found in the fields in the semi naked state.
