City traffic police said the incident occurred when the girl attempted to catch a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus at cantonment bus stop. As she attempted to board it, the bus moved and she slipped, following which it ran over her leg.
The severely injured girl has been shifted to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
She may also have to undergo a major surgery, the officials said.
