Government official suspended for raping tribal woman

V Madugula Mandal Parishad Development Officer R Satyanarayana was suspended after he was arrested for alleged harassment, rape and cheating of a tribal woman of Araku in Visakhapatnam Agency under Section 376, Section 417 and Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and the SC-ST Atrocities Act.
CEO of Zilla Parishad R Jayaprakash Narayan informed reporters today that V Madugula MPDO R Satyanarayana has been suspended and orders to that effect has been issued.
ACP (SC/ST Cell-I) B Mohana Rao said that the victim is a widow and a mother of two children, working as a sweeper on contract basis at the MPDO Office, Araku.

Satyanarayana assumed charge as MPDO, Araku in February, 2015 and the woman began working in his house.
He trapped the woman, repeatedly sexually exploited her and even promised to marry her, the police official said.
The woman lodged a complaint against Satyanarayana with Araku valley police station on June 11 this year with the help of women's organisations, the police official said.
Satyanarayana has been arrested, the police official said.
