Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said his government is committed to carry on the existing welfare projects and implement all "pro-poor and pro-common men" schemes in spite of the NDA government's new policy in allocating funds to the state.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said "Whatever situation may arise for Centre's reluctance in giving funds, the state government will continue the implementation of all the existing welfare schemes.
"The State Government will also implement the budget declarations and new pro-poor and pro-common men schemes will be taken for the benefits of the people," he said.
Gogoi asked the Chief Secretary to prepare an action plan to continue the implementation of all existing welfare projects and new schemes even if there is any constraint because of the Centre's new policy in allocating funds.
He also assured that the state government employees would continue to get their salaries regularly.
