A hardcore criminal, involved in several cases of crime, was slapped with the Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent to the Kot Bhalwal Jail in the city today.
The criminal, Narinder Kumar alias Techi, from the R S Pura area was arrested by police and sent to the jail, police said.
District magistrate Jammu, on the recommendation of police, slapped the PSA against the criminal, they said.
Kumar was involved in five cases, including attempt to murder, smuggling of drugs and contraband substance and their sale among the youth of the area, they said.
Keeping into consideration his criminal activities and involvement in drugs, police submitted dossier against him to the district magistrate and accordingly the PSA was slapped against him.
