Haryana government would soon formulate a policy under which consumers of rural, urban and agriculture sector would get sufficient power supply, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting on power reforms here, Khattar said that although the state has surplus power yet in summers the load increases with growing demand and the present infrastructure finds it difficult to meet the increasing load.
"Therefore, the state government is also formulating a policy to strengthen the existing infrastructure," he said.
The CM said that a study group has been formed to review the power situation in the state.
"Suggestions have been sought for power reforms and these will soon be implemented...Also, as promised, duration of power supply to consumers will be increased," Khattar further said.
He appealed to consumers to timely pay their electricity bills, saying ensuring better power supply involves a lot of expenditure.
