Justice S Tamilvanan and Justice V S Ravi gave the interim direction on a petition filed by one Govinda Ramanuja Dasa who said the samadhi was in a dilapidated condition and there was no access to the site for the people to worship.
The Judges issued the order after the Advocate Commissioner S Lakshmikanth, who was asked to inspect the site, gave the report stating "there are certain structures in a dilapidated state, which is evident from the photographs taken."
There was also a temporary structure of Manavalamanunigal statue in the site. There was a pathway owned by the temple and it could be opened, it added.
There existed a worshipping place in the site, which needed to be renovated, the report had stated.
The Judges, however, said that no construction work should take place till the civil dispute regarding the ownership of the site was decided.
