Heat wave prevails in North

The capital Delhi recorded a maximum of 42.7 degrees celsius, three notches above normal and a minimum of 31.8 degrees, four degrees above normal.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in many parts of Uttar Pradesh also. According to the Met office, the day temperatures increased appreciably in Kanpur and Jhansi divisions.

Temperatures were largely above normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad and Allahabad divisions, markedly above normal in Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly and Moradabad divisions.

The highest maximum temperature of 45.8 degree Celsius was recorded in Allahabad.

In Rajasthan, Churu recorded was the hottest place recording a maximum of 44.5 degrees celsius followed by SriGanganagar at 44.1 degrees.

Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jaipur recorded day temperatures of 42, 41.9 and 40.8 degrees respectively while other districts recorded maximums between 38.4 degree celsius to 40.2 degree celsius.

Isolated areas in Udaipur, Kota and Jodhpur division recorded light rains during the last 24 hours till.
