Hooda directs to constitute committee for banks merger

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today directed to constitute a committee to chalk out the modalities of merger of Haryana State Cooperative and Agriculture Rural Development Bank (HSCARDB) with HARCO bank.
The committee would be constituted under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Rajan Gupta.
Hooda was presiding over a meeting with Chairman, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), H K Bhanwala here, an official release said.
The other members of the committee would include Secretary, Cooperation, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Managing Directors of Haryana State Cooperative and Agriculture Rural Development Bank and HARCO bank and a representative of Nabard.
Hooda directed the concerned departments for full utilisation of the funds released by Nabard so that the various ongoing development projects are completed in a time bound manner.
On the demand of increase in quantum of refinance from 50 per cent to 70 per cent, which is provided for various activities, Bhanwala said Nabard is in the process of increasing the quantum of refinance and initially it might be increased 60 per cent.
He further informed that Nabard has also recommended the project costing Rs 77.35 crore of Public Health Engineering Department for augmentation of drinking water supply scheme for 41 villages in Loharu constituency of Bhiwani district.
A total of 3,482 schemes, including 1,880 ongoing and 1,602 completed pertaining to irrigation, roads and bridges, water supply, up-gradation or veterinary institutions, construction of anganwadi centres, construction of separate girls toilets in secondary schools and construction of godowns have been completed under various stages of implementation in the State under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), the meeting was informed.
