HPU inks MoU with Canadian University

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of the Fraser Valley Canada for co-operation between the two varsities in areas of common interest and educational exchanges.
The MoU was signed between Vice-Chancellors Himachal and University of the Fraser Valley Canada, Prof A D N Bajpai and Mark D Evered, in the presence of delegations from both the sides.
The MoU aims at development of articulations/transfer agreement, the organisation of co-operative academic activities such as conferences, seminars, symposia, lectures with faculty visits and other faculty collabortions.
It further emphasises the exchange of student and development of International Mobility Exchange, the exchange of publications and other materials of common interests with extensive exploration of common research interests.
The MoU also entrusts the co-operative projects of the academic discipline of both the Universities.
The Director of Centre for Canadian Studies at Himachal University Prof Meenakshi F Paul has said that the MoU will pave a way for conducting short courses of Canadian Studies very shortly which will further enhance the knowledge of Canadian Diaspora for the students of the University.
She further said that the initial areas of co-operation would be in the shape of knowledge partner, exchange scholarly ideas, information and materials as agreed between the two universities.
HPU Vice-Chancellor, said that recognising the mutual benefits through co-operative and collabortive programmes, promoting scholarly activities and international understandings would prove a boon to HPU as both Himachal and Canada share the similar topography, issues and major development planks.
President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley Canada said that his mission strives for a system of higher education which is rigorously intellectual and socially relevant.
