Badar Azim, the Indian butler in Buckingham Palace who had captured the world's attention by helping the announcement of the birth of British Prince George, would love to return if he receives a new visa.
"It was amazing for me to announce the birth of the royal baby," Badar told a TV news channel.
Badar, a hospitality management degree holder from Kolkata, was photographed with the Press Secretary of the Buckingham Palace.
Asked why he returned to India leaving the high-profile job in London, Badar said "my visa expired on July 28 and that's the reason I came back."
Badar, an alumni of Kolkata's St Mary's Orphanage and Day school, comes from a humble background. His father works as a welder in a factory.
During childhood, Azim was taken in by the charitable St Mary's Orphanage and Day School in Dum Dum, which is run by the Congregation of Christian Brothers of Ireland.
The orphanage sponsored Azim's higher education and sent him to Scotland where he completed his degree at Edinburgh's Napier University.
After he graduated in June 2011, he got a job as a junior footman at Buckingham Palace in February 2012.
Asked whether he would return if he receives a new visa, Badar said "Yes. If I get a new visa I will go back and it would be a privilege to work for the royal palace.
