The team of Rai, Jung and Nanjappa notched up a total score of 1743.
India finished on par with China (1743) but they shot one bullseye fewer - 64 to China's 65.
Yesterday, new shooting sensation Rai stole the limelight by provided the first gold medal in the ongoing Games, while another shooter Shweta Chaudhry claimed a bronze as India launched its campaign on a rousing note with two medals on the opening day of competitions.
Shweta's bronze came in the 10m air pistol competition.
