"Over the years, I have always added a modern twist to the silhouettes in my couture collections. The couture industry has significantly evolved over the past years. I think it is important that we keep this evolution constant," Gangwani told PTI.
"Nowadays, consumers have a penchant for innovative designs and silhouettes. This makes it very important for Indian couturiers to constantly inspire themselves with new and creative concepts."
Gangwani's latest line, which he will showcase at the India Couture Week, is called "Begum-e- Jannat". His label Manav Gangwani India is also making its debut tomorrow.
"I am excited to showcase 'Begum-e-Jannat'. It's old world and romantic charm captures the audience' hearts. The final product of my new label and collection has come out just how I envisioned it to be."
When asked what will be the major trends in terms of silhouettes and colour palette this wedding season, the designer said minimalistic ensembles will be a hit with brides as people are more conscious of the way these dress up.
"They are seeking for simple, subtle and more elegant options. The recent trends are also inclining towards a modern approach to traditional silhouettes. Off-shoulders, crossovers, floral, ruffles are also paving their way into the Indian Couture scene.
