"The government is working for providing more teeth to existing State Motor Vehicle Act," Transport Minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan said addressing the inaugural function of two-day 235th Standing Committee meet (supplies and contracts) at SKICC here.
The meet was organised by Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation in collaboration with Delhi-based Association of State Road Transport Undertaking (ASRTU).
"There is a need for formulation of Transport Policy and Road Safety Policy for traffic regulation," the minister said.
"More vehicles will be added to the fleet in near future," he said.
"J-K would adopt best policies of other states for making the SRTC functioning more vibrant", he said.
