J-K govt to start special electoral roll revision from Oct 1

While disclosing the schedule of special summary revision of electoral rolls at a meeting of political parties, tehsildars and booth-level officers of district Udhampur, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, S Charandeep Singh said the date of draft publication of rolls has been fixed on October 1, 2012 and filling of claims and objections would be entertained between October 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012.

October 7, October 14 and October 21 have been fixed for special campaign with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections, he said.

Moreover, the date of disposal of claims and objections has been scheduled on December 1, 2012, while updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list would be set from December 1 to December 31 whereas the final publication of electoral rolls would be conducted on January 5, 2013, he said.
