JDP, JPP to support December 29 Jharkhand bandh

Pro-domicile political parties Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) and Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) have extended their support to the statewide bandh called by various tribal organisations including Adivasi-Moolvasi Janadhikar Manch and Adivasi Jan Parishad on December 29 in protest against the state government's lingering approach in framing a domicile policy.
"The Raghubar Das-led NDA government is following the footsteps of JMM, which ditched the people of the state over framing a domicile policy," JDP president Salkhan Murmu said in a press statement here.
Forming a separate state without a domicile policy was a betrayal of its people, Murmu said claiming the state government has apparently taken a similar posture.

Branding JMM as the 'B' team of BJP in the state, Murmu said the state government was now trying to deprive the people of their constitutional right in connivance of JMM and pledged to expose both the parties.
Hailing former chief minister Babulal Marandi for supporting 73 per cent reservation of ST/SC/OBC during his tenure in power, Murmu said BJP and JMM had blamed him for his action.
Extending JDP's support to the proposed bandh, Murmu said JDP and JVM would demonstrate in front of Raj Bhawan in Ranchi on January 7 in support of the domicile policy and against large-scale displacement and migration.

JPP president Surya Singh Besra alleged, Das had promised to frame a domicile policy by November 15 last, but has kept the issue lingering, causing resentment among the majority tribal populace.
JPP along with its students wing All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Jharkhand Andolankari Manch would support the December 29 bandh, Besra added.
