The session was convened after the formation of the fourth House.
The five-phase elections to the 81-member Hosue were held from November 25 to December 20. The results were declared on December 23 and the BJP/Ajsu alliance got a clear mandate to form the government under the leadership of Raghubar Das.
The House witnessed unanimous election of Speaker Dinesh Oraon, passing of this fiscal's second supplementary budget and approval of Motion of Thanks on the Governor's speech.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha legislature party leader and former chief minister Hemant Soren was given the post of the Leader of Opposition and JMM the status of main opposition party.
