Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has appointed Prof P Kaliraj as Vice Chancellor of Bharathiar University.
Purohit is the Chancellor of the Coimbatore-based university.
"Kaliraj has a rich teaching experience of 31 years and is at present the ICMR Emeritus Medical Scientist in the Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University," a Raj Bhavan release said.
He is experienced in University administration, it added.
The governor appointed Kaliraj for a three-year period from the date of the latter assuming office, it said.
