The Rs 22.80 lakh prize money event will be held in five categories, including the showpiece 25k run which will be open for elite and amateur athletes.
"The 25k event has now become an official event in the AFI calendar and we expect country's top athletes to compete," president of West Bengal Athletics Association Prasun Mukherjee said at the announcement today.
The other categories include Open 10k run, Ananda run of 6km, senior citizens run of 4km and a special category for 'champions with disability' over 4km.
About 6500 participants vied for top honours in the inaugural edition of the event held last year on December 28.
