Krishna district on high alert post Chhattisgarh Naxal attack

Police were put on high alert in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh in the wake of deadly Naxal attack in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
Krishna district has been the shelter zone of Maoists and hence police were put on high alert after yesterday's Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh where 14 CRPF personnel were killed, Superintendent of Police G Vijayakumar told PTI.
Police are conducting cordon and search operations through out the coastal district, he said, adding in the district headquarter town of Machilipatnam, 15 people were taken into custody for questioning.
Vijayakumar said nakabandi (setting up road blocks on important junctions) and night patrolling will be increased in all sub-divisions.
