Johansson, 31, is working on a movie called "The Beautiful and the Damned" about the musician, while the 26-year-old Oscar-winner is also making a film named "Zelda", according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Johansson's film will chronicle the life of Zelda, who became a rival to her author husband F Scott Fitzgerald before she suffered from schizophrenia.
Similarly, the project sled by Lawrence with Ron Howard, will follow the life story of Zelda.
Both actresses are not the first to portray Zelda on the big screen, Vanessa Kirby recently played the female author in a small role in Colin Firth-starring drama "Genius" and Alison Pill portrayed her in director Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris".
