The animal had mauled one Jigna Gohil to death on May 15 while she was playing outside her relative's house in Sankhada village in Una tehsil, Rambhai J More, Range Forest Officer (RFO) told PTI today.
We came to know about the incident from Jigna's family, he said.
Following this, forest department officials had placed cages around the area from where the girl was dragged by the leopard.
"We were successful in catching the leopard yesterday," More said.
He said a compensation of Rs 2.25 lakh will be given to Jigna's family.
