District Judge Kamal Kishor Sharma yesterday awarded Abhay Singh life imprisonment for the the murder of Niranjan.
According to prosecution, there was a dispute between Abhay and Niranjan over a plot here.
On December 2, 2003, when a commissioner deputed bya civil court was checking the plot, Abhay long with his sons Ajay and Vijay reached thesite and started quarreling. They allegedly fired at Niranjan who later succumbed to his injuries.
The judge convicted Abhay, who is an advocate, and sentenced him to life imprisonment. His two sons were acquitted.
