The Indian Tsunami Early Warning Centre (ITEWC) - Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad said no tsunami threat exists for India.
"Light tremors were felt in some parts of the states, Delhi, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh," the ITEWC said in its bulletin.
The epicentre of the earthquake is in Nepal. Based on historical earthquake and tsunami data. Tusnami threat does not exist for India, the centre said in its evaluation of the quake.
According to the centre, no further bulletins would be issued by ITEWC INCOIS for the event unless additional information becomes available.
