On her maiden visit to this place, the Speaker flew in from New Delhi and after offering prayers at the temple of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanur near here proceeded to the sacred hills by road for an overnight stay, temple sources said.
She was accompanied by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Chairman, K. Bapiraju.
Meira Kumar would offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the hill temple on Sunday morning, they said.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N N Vohra, accompanied by his wife, offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara on the hills this morning, they added.
