"We will write to the Central government to ease the visa restriction norms for journalists from Pakistan. Other related issues will also be looked into," Patil assured the delegation of journalists from Karachi and Hyderabad (Sindh) in Pakistan, who met him at the Sahyadri guest house here.
He stressed that a feeling of "brotherhood" should be there in the people from both the countries.
"A time was there when the press used to follow the politicians. But now in the world, press has become so strong that politicians follow them," Patil said.
The media, people and government together can create a good environment between the two countries, he said.
Patil, who hosted lunch for the visiting journalists from Pakistan and Mumbai, also clarified to the delegation that Pakistan is never an agenda during election campaigns here.
