Malnutrition deaths: Central team visits Attapady

A health expert team from Centre today began its visit to the tribal hamlets at Attapady in the district from where child deaths due to malnutrition have been reported in recent months.
The four-member team headed by Dr Lakshmanaiyea, head of the Nutrition Section of National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad would meet members of those families whose children had died.
The team which arrived here today held discussions with state government officials at the district collectorate.
As per official record, twentytwo children had died due to malnutrition, anaemic and under weight in the tribal hamlets in the past five months.
