West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today questioned the impartiality of a section of the media and said they saw only negativity in her government and were working in the interest of BJP.
"They do not want the good of Bengal. Poor people are not getting money for 100 days' work. Will they utter a single word against the BJP?. I will not say that all your news is bad. Definitely I will not say that all the newspapers are bad," Banerjee said targetting a section of media.
"Just like good medicine and spurious medicine, there is good media and bad media", she said at a meeting here.
"Like selling food, selling news has become a new business. Malicious lies are being spread", the chief minister said.
Urging party workers at the meeting to be selective in reading newspapers and watching news channels, she said "If I see that news is being dished out truthfully, I will welcome even if these are against me. If I see a spurious news is being offered, I will not see (that channel) and touch..." (the paper)...
"Kono Kono channel BJP'r hoye Dalali Korche"(Certain channels are working for the interest of BJP)....One can fool some people sometime, but not all people all the time", she said.
"If we want, we can expose the media persons who indulge in unfair practices", she cautioned.
"Despite the conspiracies of some sections of the media, Bengal will surge ahead on the path of development", the chief minister said at the meeting.
