The accused, Anil Choudhary, who claimed to be the brother in-law of BSP MLA from Muradnagar, was arrested on Sunday after a complaint was filed by a local builder at Sahibabad police station, said its station officer (SO).
As per the complaint, the builder alleged that on October 28, he received a call from a woman offering a land deal in Sahibabad area.
Upon finding the offer lucrative, the victim met her at a office in DLF society in Sahibabad area where he was introduced to four persons, including two women.
According to the police, the following day the builder received a call from that woman, demanding Rs 5 lakh, and threatening him that if he didn't give the money, they would release his explicit MMS clip.
"We had put the number from which the woman would make calls to the victim on surveillance, following which Anil Choudhary was arrested on Sunday," a senior police officer said.
Choudhary's accomplices Satish, Pooja, Nitin and Guddu are yet to be arrested, he added.
