A man allegedly involved in at least 56 cases of snatching and robbery in north-west and outer Delhi areas has been arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police.
On a tip off, Ramesh (35) was arrested by a team of Crime Branch near Shiv Mandir (Mubarakpur) in Aman Vihar area last week, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner (crime).
He has already been declared a proclaimed offender in 10 cases and proceedings are underway in four more cases. Police was also completing formalities to announce a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest before he was caught by the Crime Branch, he said.

Moving on stolen bikes, he would commit crime all over Delhi, particularly in outer and north-west areas of the city. He was married and his family members including his wife, brother and brothers-in laws were also involved in criminal activities including bootlegging.
His brothers-in-law Vicky and Sunny were earlier arrested under MCOCA. Another of his brother-in-law Vikram was among top ten snatchers in the area, added the officer.
