Man dies as crude bomb in pocket explodes
Press Trust of India Lucknow A man, who was carrying crude bombs in his pocket to attack his estranged wife, died when one of the explosives went off, police said today.
According to police sources here, Vinay Kumar reached Devkali village in Faizabad district yesterday to attack his wife, Shalini.
He hurled two bombs at his wife's house. While one bomb went and hit a wall, the other did not explode, they said.
Following this, family members of Shalini chased him during which he fell on the ground leading to the crude bomb kept in his pocket to explode, police said.
He died on the spot.
Police said Kumar wanted to eliminate his wife, who was living separately, as their relations were not good.
