District and Sessions Judge A Ripnar found the accused Tenderly Hynniewta guilty and awarded him life imprisonment.
He was also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000.
According to the prosecution, Hynniewta took his girlfriend, then 19 and seven months pregnant, to a graveyard in the city and slit her throat with a knife on September 6, 2002.
