Man shot dead in road rage case
Press Trust of India New Delhi In a case of road rage, a 25-year-old businessman was shot dead in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area following an argument with a SUV driver whose vehicle brushed against his car.
DeepakBhadana,aresidentofFaridabad, was returning from a wedding with his relatives yesterday night when the incident took place, police said today.
Deepak was stuck in a jam with his relatives on the Dallupura-Kondli road when the SUV bearing a VIP number and a Uttarakhandnumberplatebrushedpasttheircarhittingthe bumperandtherearviewmirrorfromthedriver'sside.
"Deepakgotdowntotalktotheaccused. They had an argument.Theaccusedwasdrunkandhencethe otherrelativesaskedDeepaktositinthecar," said Deepak's relative.
As Deepak's carmovedahead,the
accusedwhippedouthispistolandfired, his relative said. The bullet hit Deepak behindhisearandhediedonthe spot, police said.
Deepakhadacowfodderbusiness.Hewas the onlyearningmemberofhisfamilyashisyoungerbrothersare studying.
APCRcallwasmadeandhe wasrushed to Metro Hospital inNoidawherehewasdeclaredbroughtdead.
The accused has been identified as 40-year-old Yashpal, a property dealer who has been arrested, police said.
