"Massimo Dutti will open its doors to international fashion followers in Delhi on May 13, 2016. The Massimo Dutti store is poised to start operations in the national capital at Select CityWalk Mall...And will house womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories and personal tailoring," the company said in a statement.
"The opening will mark the foray of the Spanish premium brand to the Indian market at the behest of Inditex, the Spanish retail group which owns the brand," it added.
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board cleared the proposal as part of a go-ahead to 15 foreign direct investment plans worth USD 330.3 million.
India had rejected an application by Inditex unit Zara Holdings BV to sell the more upscale brand through a joint venture with Tata Group's retail arm, Trent Ltd, in July 2012.
Globally, Massimo Dutti has 755 stores across 73 countries.
