Maximum temperature rises in Punjab, Haryana

The day temperatures in the region hovered between two to four degrees Celsius above normal, the MeT office said.
Narnaul was the hottest in Haryana at 43 deg C, four notches above normal whereas Amritsar at 41.8 deg C, four notches above normal, was the hottest in Punjab.
Among other places, Rohtak recorded 42.3 deg C, four notches above normal followed by 42.2 deg C at Hisar, two notches above normal.
While Bhiwani had a high of 41.4 deg C, Chandigarh recorded 41.1 deg C, four notches above normal.
Ludhiana recorded 40 deg C, two notches above normal followed by Ambala at 39.6 deg C and Patiala at 39.5 deg C.
The MeT forecast mainly clear sky and further rise in day temperatures in the region.
The Punjab Government has extended the summer vacations in primary schools of the state for another one week.
