The deceased identified as Naseem was shot dead yesterday by some unidentified persons near his village while he was on his way back on a motorcycle, they said.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, irate villagers protested over the incident and demanded arrest of the culprits, they said.
Prima facie it appears to be a case of murder due to old enmity, police said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
