Mining Bureau official returns after 'missing' for 124 days

Nearly four months after his mysterious disappearance, a senior official of Indian Bureau of Mines belonging to Karnataka today returned home at Bhubaneswar, his family here said.
Ibrahim Sharif, Assistant Controller of Mines at IBM, was reported missing on November 25 last year from Bhubaneswar with his whereabouts remaining mysterious, that had led the Odisha government to form a police squad to trace him.
Since Ibrahim was from Bellary district in Karnataka, the state government had also taken up the issue with its counterpart in Odisha.
Ibrahim's father Giddusab and brother Gilan told reporters here that they had been informed that he had returned home and was traced in Uttarakhand.

They had received the information from Ibrahim's brother-in-law, they said, adding, they were leaving for Bhubaneswar and were not aware of the full details.
Sharif's wife Salma Begum had stated in her FIR registered with Infocity police in Bhubaneswar that he remained untraceable since he left for office on his scooter and had suspected his abduction. Police had found the scooter parked barely 200 metres from the IBM regional office.
