Noticing the smoke, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to the spot and took steps to put off the fire, a SCR release said tonight.
The fire brigade too was immediately informed. Two fire engines reached within minutes and brought the blaze under total control, it said.
No records or files have been burnt and no damage has been caused to the building, it said, adding an inquiry would be undertaken to ascertain the cause for the fire.
