A 20-year-old Japanese national, reported missing from a city hotel since January 29, has returned to his home country, police said today.
Yuta Kikuchi had checked into the hotel in Egmore area on January 29 and went outside at 11 am after handing over the room key at the reception but did not return, the hotel manager said in a police complaint.
As part of investigation, police had sought the help of Japanese Embassy in the city, a police release said.
Inquiries showed the missing person has gone back to Japan by taking an Air India flight from New Delhi, it said but did not give any further detail as to why he left the city abruptly.
