Three employees of excise dept killed in road mishap

Three employees of the state excise department were killed and four others, including an assistant sub-inspector were seriously injured when their vehicle collided head on against a stone-laden truck on NH-34 at Malda today.
Malda Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Modi said the three, including the driver of the excise department vehicle, died on the spot near Narayanpur and the injured were rushed to Malda Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.
The seven were returning after conducting a raid.
Five of them were constables, besides the driver and the assistant sub-inspector, he added.
