"Ever since the BJP government has assumed power at the Centre, there seems a deliberate attempt to harm the agriculture sector especially the small & marginal farmers and agriculture-based workers," Amarinder Singh Raja Brar, President of Youth Congress, said, according to a release.
Alleging that the farmers were not getting fair price for their produce and that the benefits of drop in crude oil prices in international market have not been passed on to end- consumers, mainly farmers, he said "the BJP government is now trying to snatch farmers and tribals' land on the pretext of land reforms."
Youth Congress will also file a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court against the state-run oil marketing firms on the de-regulation of diesel and petrol prices.
