Seema Singh, the mother of 27-year-old Sara who died in a road accident in Sirsaganj area of Firozabad, sought Governor's help in the matter and said that her daughter might have been "killed" before she was "declared dead" in the mishap.
"Sara's mother met the Governor and in her meeting, which lasted for about 20 minutes, apprised him about the case," Raj Bhawan sources said.
"The Governor also took a report on the case from the DGP and asked Seema Singh to cooperate in investigations with the state police," sources said, adding that the Governor said that he will also talk to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in this regard.
"I suspect my daughter was killed as part of a conspiracy and did not die in an accident. I request you to lodge an FIR in this matter and initiate probe," Seema Singh said in the letter.
Sara was killed when the car in which she was travelling overturned and fell into a pit in Firozabad district while her husband Amanmani miraculously escaped unhurt.
Incidentally, Amanmani was evading police as he was wanted in the kidnapping and loot from a contractor in Lucknow. He was arrested after the accident.
Amanmani's father Amarmani Tripathi, a former minister is an influential politician from Eastern Uttar Pradesh, is currently serving a life sentence in the Madhumita Shukla murder case.
Tripathi was arrested in September 2003 in connection with the murder of poet Madhumita Shukla, with whom he allegedly had an affair, and who was murdered on 9 May 2003.
The post mortem report of Madhumita revealed that she was carrying a foetus that matched the DNA of Amarmani and he and his wife Madhumani Tripathi were sentenced to life imprisonment in October 2007.
