The Jammu and Kashmir government has fast-tracked the recruitment process to address the lack of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools, state education minister Altaf Ahmad Bukhari informed the Assembly today.
The recruitment process for 2,154 teaching and 1,296 non-teaching posts will be fast-tracked to overcome the paucity of staff in the schools, the minister said.
The department is contemplating referring more posts to recruitment agencies soon. The process of consolidation of vacancies is in progress in all districts, Bukhari added.
Replying to a question, Bukhari said there are 18 higher secondary schools functional in the Bhaderwah constituency in Jammu, including two for girls, where almost all important subjects are being taught.
The minister also informed that the finance department has expressed its inability to introduce Islamic, Buddhist, Vedic studies, tourism and microbiology subjects in these schools due to scarcity of funds.
He, however, said the introduction of microbiology subject is under consideration.
