"Extremely saddened to hear about the accident. I reviewed the situation, spoke to the concerned officials to act immediately to extend all possible help and assistance to the victims and provide all necessary medical treatment to the injured," Naidu, the Information and Broadcasting minister, said in a statement.
Eleven persons, including four women, died on the spot when a speeding lorry ploughed into a crowd and knocked down a high tension power cable pole outside a police station at Yerpedu in Chittoor district.
"I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and my prayers are with the injured," Naidu said.
